MSN Messenger is a convenient way to stay in contact with friends and talk to multiple people at the same time. However, when you are away from your home computer, you can't access the program. The MSN Web Messenger service solves this problem. This tool allows you to access your contact list and communicate with anyone with a Web browser.
Instructions
1. Visit the MSN Web Messenger website. To use this service, you needInternet
Explorer version 5.0 or later, Netscape version 7.1 or later or Mozilla version 1.6 or later. You also need a computer running on the Windows platform.- Step2
Disable your pop-up blocker. If you are using a pop-up blocker, you must allow pop-ups from the MSN Web Messenger website.
- Step3
Choose the status you would like to sign in as from the drop-down menu. Click the "Start MSN Web Messenger" button on the homepage to begin using the service.
- Step4
Log onto MSN Web Messenger using your regular username and password. Click the "Sign In" button to continue. A pop-up window comes up and displays your contacts.
- Step5
Use MSN Web Messenger just like you use your regular MSN Messenger software. Click on a contact's name to open a dialogue with them. Your conversation then appears in another pop-up window. Depending on your Internet
connection speed, you may notice communication is a little slower with the Web Messenger service than the software. - Step6
Sign out of MSN Web Messenger by simply closing all the pop-up
windows that you opened.
