Basically I am an Entomologist (Zoologist) but build up my carrier in a renowned and world’s number one agribusiness company Syngenta Bangladesh Limited (Ex-CIBA & Novartis). At present I am a marketing professional, handling competent and highly skilled team and fast moving Agribusiness products in Bangladesh.

I started my carrier in 1989 as a Market Development Officer in Agriculture Division of the then CIBA-GEIGY Bangladesh Limited. A renowned Multinational of Swiss origin operates in more than 100 countries. It is world number one Company in Agribusiness and Market leader in Agro chemicals business in Bangladesh.

Apart from my sales responsibility, I was assigned as a Chief trainer for the company for people development. I organized and conducted different training programs for in-house and external people. My special assignment was to find out potential people and develop through job coaching for future projection.

I was also assigned to finding out potential niche market for additional business, planning for promotion with competitive advantage and building up strategies for specific sales territory, region and division. I was also a member of the team that builds Company’s long-term strategies.

Achievements in Job:

1. As a Marketing Officer I established distribution structure in Kishoreganj and Dinajpur sales territory. I found out the potential market and implement effective promotion campaign. That's why these two territories emerged as model territory in Bangladesh.

2. As a Regional Manager I worked in Mymensingh Region. In that time this region emerged out as a model Region in the country and got Champion trophy for two times. I established sales and distribution structure and set example of credit management, which is still country example to the other region by the Top management.

3. As a Divisional Sales Manager, I worked for Khulna and Rajshahi division, which contributed 60% of company sales. In Khulna Division I established some products, which is still in leading position and contribute a lot for the division and for the country. I set distribution structure and outlet for the smooth product movement. The remarkable promotion activities to establish a brand now the national company program.

4. In Rajshahi Division I contributed a lot to streamline our distribution channel. In this division our company structure was not well structured and efficient. As for example, before my joining our distributors number was 60 and Retailers number was 2000. Within 2 years tenure of my job I appointed 55 numbers of new distributors and 1500 numbers of retailers for our product outlet.

5. Because of the well structured trade our newly launched product gained highest market share over competitors and it is 70% of the country sales. In this division I established a program (minimum fixed price for retail sale), which is now national program for the company.

6. I achieved highest award "Certificate of Excellence on Sales Management" by the Executive Committee and Global Head of Crop Protection Division CIBA-GEIGY, Switzerland Mr. Dr. WOLFGANG SAMO.
